Founder’s Story
Ali’s journey from managing his family’s restaurant in Bangladesh to founding AccuTax is
proof of strength in the face of huge challenges. His experience with Hummus 21, a fine-
dining kosher restaurant in Manhattan, became a test of hardship. Even with his love for
the business, Ali found himself sleeping on the restaurant floor, juggling multiple roles, and
drowning in money problems. The complex tax system, strict IRS rules, and unreliable
accountants/CPAs worked against him, draining the business. As Hummus 21 closed in
2016, Ali was left with heavy debt and a deep feeling of powerlessness, upset, and
loneliness that would connect with many small business owners.
After the restaurant closure, Ali experienced self-employment, facing quarterly income
tax and self-employment taxes. Through this struggle, he discovered legal ways to
lower these tax bills, gaining valuable insights into the challenges faced by self-
employed and small business owners.
From these hard times, AccuTax was born – a champion for small businesses fighting
against the very enemies Ali had faced. Combining his varied business experience with
professional knowledge, AccuTax’s mission became clear: to provide affordable, quality
accounting services and help businesses redirect tax savings into important marketing
efforts. Ali’s change from having a hard time as a business owner to financial helper is
shown in AccuTax’s commitment to empowering small businesses. The creation of the
WealthWise Foundation further boosts this mission, offering free accounting services to
business owners having a hard time. Through AccuTax and WealthWise, Ali makes sure
that no small business owner faces these challenges alone, creating a community of
support and strength in the face of tough financial challenges.
